Maybell Magdalene Murray, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at home.
Maybell was born February 21, 1930 in Jamaica, West Indies and immigrated to the United States of America in her early thirties. She worked at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY as a Nurses Aide for twenty-two years. Maybell retired and relocated to Port Charlotte in 1991. She became a devoted member of Community Life Center in Port Charlotte, where she attended Sunday School Services and also served as an usher.
Maybell is survived by two sons, Wilcox (Rosemarie) Wilcox of Brooklyn, NY and their children Cree and Kavion, and John Beckford of Jamaica and his daughter, Dova Beckford Webb; a brother, Vincent Murray of Jamaica; her long time friend, George C. Wilson of Brooklyn, NY; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from all over the world.
The family is grateful for all of the people who were in her life when she needed them. Our thanks to Pastor Mark Coffey, her neighbor, Karen Newkirk, her hairdresser, Audrey McMahon, friends, brothers and sisters at the Community Life Center. May God bless you all abundantly, you made a difference in her life.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 followed by a Funeral Service at 12 Noon at the Community Life Center, 19048 Edgewater Dr., Port Charlotte, FL 33948. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
