Martha McKay Tooley, 77, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on September 24, 2016 at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, FL after she sustained a traumatic head injury on September 10th.
Martha was so cherished and loved by her family and will be very much missed! She was born in Salina, Kansas to Josephine and Allen McKay and grew up in Lamar, Missouri. She attended the University of Arkansas and earned a degree in business. After getting married and having children, she worked her entire adult career at Walgreens beginning as a store manager and was then promoted to district manager. In 1997, she married the love of her life, Patrick Tooley, and soon after took an early retirement, built her dream home and then spent the last 19 years traveling the world with her beloved Patrick.
Martha is survived by her beloved husband Patrick and children Beth Ann, Mark and John Allen, two step daughters Susan and Shannon and grandchildren Michael, Adam, Thomas, Phillip, William and step grandchildren Chase, Max and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Josephine McKay, her sister Allene and her brother Elbert and grandson Dennis
A Memorial Mass in celebration of her life will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 1441 Spear St., Port Charlotte, Florida 33948 on Monday October, 3rd at 10:00 AM. Please join the family directly following the mass for a reception.
