Laile Wallace Potter, 92, of Lake Suzy, Florida died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Tidewell Hospice House, Port Charlotte, Florida.
He was born March 18, 1924 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Howard and Vern (nee Burt) Potter and moved to Kingston, Pennsylvania at an early age. Laile graduated from Wyoming Seminary and Lehigh University where he received a Engineering Degree. He retired from Atlantic Refining Company after 42 years of service. He was a Past President of the National Asphalt Association, member of Kingston Lodge #395 F&AM of Kingston, PA, the American Legion and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Laile was an avid golfer and loved to travel.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 66 years, Hester A. Potter of Lake Suzy; two sons, Thomas W. (Linda) Potter of Pleasant Grove, AL and Jerry S. (Sharon) Potter of Malvern, PA 4; grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Graveside services and interment with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held 12:30 PM, Thursday May 5, 2016 at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
