George M. Schwartz, Sr., 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, FL.

George was born February 21, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., George, a Roofing Contractor, moved to Port Charlotte in 1981 with his wife Catherine “Katie” from their native Pittsburgh, PA., and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.

George is survived by five children; sons, Donald (wife Cheryl) M. Schwartz, Sr., and George (wife Liz) M. Schwartz, Jr.; and daughters, Beverly (husband Brian) Wilkie, Patricia Schwartz, and Sandi (husband Mike) Schwartz-Marques; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous extended family members. George was preceded in death by his wife Catherine in May 2010.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at Roberson Funeral Homes Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Military Honors and Entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery, both in Port Charlotte.

So many memories it is hard to choose, however, I remember a day when Uncle tried so hard to win Jordan a stuffed toy out of a machine and when he finally did he drove all the way out to the farm just to give it to her!!
