Scott Keith Murray, 58, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Bayfront in Punta Gorda.
Scott was born on October 22, 1959, in Fostoria, Ohio. A former member of the U.S. Navy SEALs, Scott re-entered civilian life following his military career as a Historic Shipwreck Recovery and Salvage diver for Mel Fisher’s Treasures in Key West, Florida. He moved from Key West to Punta Gorda following his retirement.
He is survived by a brother, Stuart Murray; a niece, Shana E. Hancock; a grand-niece, Harloh Hancock, and grand-nephew, Ashtin Hancock, and extended family members. Scott was preceded in death by his parents James and Norma Murray, a brother, Jimmy Murray, and a sister, Lindsay Elizabeth Murray.
Burial at Sea will be provided by the United States Navy with Military Honors, from Mayport Naval Station in Mayport, FL.
