Richard J. Grisky, age 89, of North Port, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Bayfront Health in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Richard was born on Thursday, March 31, 1932 in Norwich, Connecticut to the late Mary (nee-Dowyak) and Mitchel Grisky.  The youngest of three children in the Grisky family, Richard grew up in Essex, Connecticut where he graduated High School and went on to open and operate R. J. Grisky Company Builders, a successful Renovation and Restoration Construction firm in Essex, and was also a founding and lifetime member of the Essex Boat Club.  Richard had two children when he met and later married in June of 1997 Grace C. (nee-Forsyth).  Together they designed and built a beautiful home in Old Lyme, Connecticut where they continued to reside into their retirement while wintering in Southwest Florida from 2004 to 2012.  In 2012 Richard and Grace became permanent residence of North Port, Florida.
Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 24 years, Grace C. Grisky, and his children, Susan Grisky, and Michael Grisky, both of Essex, CT; a grandson, Michael Grisky Jr., and a great-grandson, Silas Grisky. In addition to his parents Mary and Mitchel, Richard was also preceded in death by his older siblings, Donald Grisky and Rose Mary Roos.
A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Roberson Funeral Homes Chapel at 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, Florida.
