Mary “Marie Tavcar” Bowering, age 67, of North Port, Florida passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.

Mary was born Marie Tavcar, in Chapleau, Ontario on September 16, 1950 to the late Johanna and Janez Tavcar. Mary grew up in Fort Erie attending Bowen Road School and Fort Erie High School. In 1987 the family moved to Florida where she had a very rewarding career in nursing as a Registered Nurse.

With great sadness she leaves behind her son John; brothers John, Winko, Frank and Victor Tavcar; sisters Anna Brown (Glenn), Hilda Miller (Robert), and Minka Shannon (Terry); and her former husband Douglas.

At Mary’s request, no services will be held and cremation will follow.

My name is Elana.... I used to work with Mary at Doctors Hospital.... I just heard about Mary.... I'm in total shock. As a matter of fact I emailed her two days ago to tell her that one of our coworkers' mom passed away..... Doug and John.... Please.... Accept my deepest sympathies.... Words cannot express how I feel... Blessings

We had very good times together and she will be very much missed.

We were very saddened to hear of Mary's passing. I've known her for many years and always thought that she was a very kind soul. We also spent quite a bit of time with her and Doug in Florida and we will miss her very much. Our condolences go out to her Family and may she rest in Peace.
