Joan Veronica (Gamble) Albertson, age 83, of North Port FL, formerly of Bridgeport CT, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017.

In her pursuit of higher education, Joan obtained an Associate’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Library Science while raising four children. Joan was a long-time employee of the Bridgeport Public Library and the Trumbull Library systems. During her retirement, Joan pursued her love of watercolor painting and enjoyed travelling with her husband, especially to Ireland.

A beloved wife, Joan was recently predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Jack Albertson. Joan was a devoted mother to their children, Kathleen DeSanti and her husband, Gregory, of Rockledge FL, Laurie Polizzo and her husband, Rory, of Bridgeport CT, Dr. Maureen Albertson of Punta Gorda FL, and Sean Albertson and his wife, Margaret, of Needham MA. Joan was a cherished grandmother to Brendan, Meagan, and Ryan Albertson of Needham MA and Kayleigh and Breanna Albertson of Punta Gorda FL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Trumbull CT on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Stratford, CT.
