I GREW UP WITH JAMES IN DANVILLE,VA. WE WERE BOYHOOD PALS AND WENT TO SCHOOL TOGETHER. HE WAS ONE OF A KIND, LAID BACK AND NOTHING SEEMED TO BOTHER HIM. I HAVEN'T SEEN JAMES SINCE THOSE DAYS OF OLD BUT I TALKED TO HIS SISTER JOY A FEW TIMES AND SHE TOLD ME WHERE HE WAS. IF YOU SAW JAMES AND TALKED TO HIM YOU COULD IMAGINE HIM BEING BEHIND A MULE AND PLOW, JUST A GOOD OLD COUNTRY BOY.

Jim was always a gentle man with an easy and contagious laugh. We will remember him fondly.

Jim was a great friend who I met while working for Moore Mortgage in 1986. We did lots of fun things together during our 20 years of friendship. Including climbing a dozen or more 14,000' peaks in Colorado, skiing, camping, going to Mazatlan, hiking Rim to Rim to Rim of the Grand Canyon, sailing in Colorado & Florida. Jim was the greatest baby sitter my kids, Katie, Corey & Emmy ever had. They too will miss him terribly. I was with Jim when he moved his belongs from storage in Colorado to Punta Gorda, Flordia. Jim & I drove a Penski truck 2100 miles and had a real enjoyable time over those 3 days. I can still hear his booming laugh, may I never forget it. I feel very fortunate to have spent the time with him. We stopped at Graceland Memphis Tennessee and Tupelo Mississippi. There is a memorial wall at Elvis's birthplace with sayings that I borrowed to remember Jim by. There is something nice about everyone. There was everything nice about Jim. Jim was the type of guy everybody liked. He was real honest. Humble. He was what I like to call a good country boy. Thank you, Jim, for being one of my best buddies. I will miss you always.
