Ivy E. Stewart, of Garden City, New York and former resident of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 peacefully at her home in New York.
Ivy was born in Trinidad, West Indies and moved to Port Charlotte in 1985 from Queens, New York. She later moved back to Garden City, New York to be with her family. Ivy was a member and devoted Christian of Community life Center of Full Gospel Ministries for many years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Glenn (Savitri) Stewart of Garden City, NY, Steven (Sonia) Stewart of Hempstead, NY and Rasheem Stewart of Port Charlotte, FL; a daughter, Tasma Stewart of Baltimore, MD; 6 grandchildren, Elena, Jonathan, Nadine, Kevaughn, Melquan Stewart and Cheron Henderson and 3 great-grandchildren, Cheron Jr., Keith and William Henderson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth A. Stewart and her son, Keith Thompson.
Visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Friday, January 6, 2012 at Community Life Center of Full Gospel Ministries, 19048 Edgewater Drive Port Charlotte, FL 33948. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00AM at the church. Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, Florida.
