Hilda “Micki” Bowman, 92, went home to the loving arms of her Creator on January 15, 2019.
She was born to the late Edward McGee and Cora Foor on July 5, 1926. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Arthur Bowman, her daughter, Jolene Riley, and her siblings, Jack McGee and Joanne Powell.
Hilda is survived by her four sons Jerry Shatzer (Patricia), Jeffrey Shatzer (Pat), Ned Shatzer II and Jeff Bowman; and her son-in-law, Joe Riley. Nanny was adored by her grandchildren, Jennifer Grantham, RJ Riley, Ned Shatzer III, Scott Shatzer and Jason Shatzer, and leaves a legacy to her eight great grandchildren.
Micki loved the beach, painting, and spending time with family and friends. She resided in Pelican Inlet and was an active member of St. Augustine Shores United Methodist church until she began her battle with Alzheimer’s in 2009. A high school basketball phenom, as well as being a welder during WWII, Micki was best defined as a tenacious, loving, beautiful woman who knew how to face adversity head on.
