Gertrude Victoria Ashford, 89 years young, of Port Charlotte, Florida, earned her wings on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family.
Gertrude was born April 4, 1931 in Jackson Heights (Queens) New York City, NY to Emil and Victoria (Vallier) Kuck.  She was one of 3 children raised in New York.  She met and married her Husband Gilbert William Ashford, and to this union 5 daughters were born.  Cheryle, Charlene, Pamela, Tammy and Arleen.  Gertrude’s true gift came from her time and effort creating decorative items for her home and yard.  She loved flowers and woodworking projects.
Gertrude’s survivors include: her daughters, Pamela Ashford-Randall (Ronald), Tammy Ashford-Gardow, and Arleen Ashford- Mills; Gertrude’s grandchildren, Jeanette (Randall) Wagner (Matt), Tony Durazzo (Kahala), Jenna Durazzo, Dane Gardow (Sarah), Janelle Porter (Trevor), and Ian Mills; and Gertrude’s 10 Great Grandchildren, Brady and Reagan Wagner, Olivia and Collin Durazzo, Jace and Jude Wright, Brooke, Kori, Ryder and Aubree Porter.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband:  Gilbert William Ashford, parents: Emil and Victoria Kuck, her sisters: Gloria Rogan (Ashford) and Barbara Cambell (Ashford), her infant daughters: Cheryle and Charlene Ashford, including numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
