Cotchieta “Millie” Russell 91, died on July 13, 2021 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Millie was born in Riversdale District, St. Catherine Parish, Jamaica on May 16, 1930 to Albertine Morris and Frank Russell, the 2nd of 6 siblings.  Her sister Myrtle, and brothers Leslie, Headley and Edmond, preceded her in death.  Her surviving sister Veronica, resides in England.  Millie migrated to the United Kingdom in the late 1950s. She later moved to the United States and lived in Uniondale, Long Island before she moved to Port Charlotte, Florida.
Millie made many friends in Port Charlotte and was an integral part of her church family at Calvary Assembly of God. She volunteered at Consulate Health Care in Port Charlotte and displayed love and kindness to the patrons and staff at that institution.  She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Millie was always willing to lend a hand to friends, family and neighbors.
Millie is survived by one sister – Veronica Hamilton, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, 2 sisters in law, and many dear friends.
Funeral services celebrating Millie’s life will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God, 3279 Sherwood Road, Port Charlotte, Fl 33980. Interment will follow immediately at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 1380 Forest Nelson Blvd., Port Charlotte, Florida.
