Carolyn Burton, wife of Jack Burton (RIP) left a message on May 20, 2020:
We were so very sorry to read the obit of CB's passing. I am sending condolences for my children and for Tom Burton. Once when I visited CB after he moved to Florida, he gracious gave each of my granddaughters a small stuffed animal from Jenny's vast collection. What a hit he was with tall three. He was such a gentleman and always smiling. There was nothing too hard for him to tackle; a very interesting person with all his hobbies and projects. We are still gleaning information from all his genealogy work on the Needy family. We have many happy memories of our time in Newport News. Sincere condolences and may your life be filled with happy memories of both CB and Jenny.

Meeting Clarence over Facebook in search of family history. He was a person on top of family history. We know the families were connected but the answer has yet to come. I will miss his little notes. May you RIP and your family will find the love of others to know how much you are missed. My deepest sympathy.

Clarence was a bright spot in my life! He brought many smiles and full blown belly laughs into my days! I'm so glad we had the chance to meet him last spring. He was a smart, witty man full of knowledge as well as the Diersing family history. He will be missed greatly. He declared himself my 'other brother' when my older brother passed away. And what a great 'big brother' he was! Love you Clarence.... I wish you rest and peace and hope you are reunited with Ginny in your new home. Dutchie will miss you too! I hope you are watching down on us and can finally see 'the blue cabin' !

I was SO sorry to read this in the Courier-Journal this morning. I have so many great memories of visiting Uncle "Bubba" and Aunt Jenny - and cousin Bryant (and his Aunt HAHA, my Mom). I'm sorry we didn't keep in touch as much as we should but we'll always have our pictures and memories.

Clarence so loved "Sassy" and when he would leave town to visit Bryant we would take care of her. He met us often in the front yard in his favorite teeshirts. And he had many that Sassy had pecked to shreds.

Bryant and Nancy, So sorry for your loss. Our condolences to you both and the family. C was like a dad to me and Jenny like a mom when my mom passed. They will always be in my ❤️. He was a very smart and loving person. He was my computer geek. Guess I’ll have to call on you or go to the Geek Squad. I’ll Remember them both when we use to play cards with them. Now I’ll have to find someone else to come over so I can cook dinner for them as I always cook for an Army. He’s home now with Jenny ❤️❤️. Going to miss him dearly.
