Virginia Pearl Edwards-Musgrave, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 at her Port Charlotte residence of care.
She was born July 26, 1928 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Virginia was a graduate of Seacrest High School, Delray Beach, Florida. Both her undergraduate and master’s degree were from Eastern Michigan Universally in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was a special education teacher in Michigan and Tennessee. She was a member Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Charlotte County Retired Educators Association and Gideons International.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Margaret (Edwards) Collins of Port Charlotte, FL, son, Kenneth M. Edwards, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Linnea (Olsson) Coggin and Joan (Olsson) Wardle; and a brother, John P. Olsson. Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Elaine Edwards, husband and father of her children, Kenneth M. Edwards, Sr., second husband, Donald Musgrave, brother, Jesse Olsson, sister, Mary Ann (Olsson) Powell and her parents, John and Margaret Olsson.
Visitation will be held today Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m., with Funeral services to be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Graveside committal and burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte. Rev. Ed Horne of Trinity United Methodist will officiate.
