Dear Connie and Family, As Connie's friend for over 50 years, I'm am so sorry for your loss, My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Connie, We enjoyed so many times together taking Bob with us and how patient he was when we went to the flea markets and sat him at a table while we searched for bargains. I always enjoyed guiding him when we went into restaurants and spoiling him just a little with extra attention and kidding around. I hope the wonderful memories you had together, your art classes, your trips, and all the other fun times will sustain you during this difficult time. I will miss him too. God Bless, Love, Sue

Dear Connie and the entire family, My wife Anne Treadway and i offer our deepest condolences on your loss. Bob was a terrific leader, mentor to Dennis, and most importantly friend. We both worked with Bob at Conrail. Our lives were greatly enriched by the opportunity to know and learn from Bob, and to have worked alongside Bob in saving his "home road". After his family, his best life's work at Conrail benefitted thousands of workers and families, in turn a role model for many. In private, I recall fondly a kind and generous man, always ready to help others. We are pleased he had the privilege of a long retirement. You and Bob are in our prayers. Sincerely, Dennis Arouca

My sincere sympathy to you on the loss of your husband. He stunned me one Christmas when he presented me with a Conrail tie which I still have. I was a lowly local chairman for the BofLE and he didn't even need to talk to me let alone be so gracious as to remember me. I liked him, he seemed to understand the plight of the working man and was in a position to do something about it.
