Margaret Sivak Cox, 95, of Port charlotte, Florida passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018.
She was born in Clairton, Pa to Peter and Mary Sivak. She was a first generation from Czechoslovakia. She moved to Washington, DC in 1941 where she worked for the Navy Dept. She met and married Bernard H. Cox and was a homemaker. She and her family moved to Port Charlotte in 1974 from Waldorf, MD. She was very active and always on the go. Margaret was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and anyone in need. She knew no stranger. People were always drawn to her bright smile, beautiful blue eyes and the aura of kindness that surrounded her. Over the years she belonged to card player groups, women’s groups, community clubs, and church groups. She is a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church family. Margaret was a wonderful, happy woman who will be missed by all who crossed her life path.
She leaves behind her 2 daughters, Mary Kay Quick of Port Charlotte and Shirley Cook of Philadelphia, PA; 2 granddaughters, Kara Lee Quick of Port Charlotte, FL and Kayla Lynn Quick of New York City, NY; her grandchildren, Brenda Moh, Corky Gardiner, John Cook, Anne Marie Giapitronini, Thomas H. Cox, Robert Cox, and Jay C. Cox and 6 great grandchildren and her daughter in law, Sue Cox. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Bernard H. Cox, Sr, her step son, Bernard H. Cox, Jr., her parents Mary and Peter Sivak, brother Duke Sivak, and granddaughter Lauren Kaye Quick.
Visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Entombment will follow to Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda, FL. Memorial Contributions may be made to any charity of choice.
