Margaret E. Swink, 83, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at Bayfront Health in Punta Gorda.
Margaret was born June 26, 1934 in Washington D.C., and moved to this area in 1983 from Falls Church, Virginia with her husband John P. Swink. Margaret was Past Noble Grand of the Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge No. 60, and District Deputy President of District No. 18 Rebekah Assembly of Florida, and a member of the Punta Gorda Woman’s Club.
She is survived by her children, James (Suzanne) Swink of Wesley Chapel, FL, Betty Brett of Bradenton, FL, Mary Kimball of Front Royal, VA, and Joni (Ronald) Wright of Punta Gorda; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members. Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, John.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and again from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Roberson Funeral Home, 215 Mary Street in Punta Gorda. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m., on Friday, December 1, 2017, followed by burial at Indian Spring Cemetery in Punta Gorda.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Margaret’s name to one of the following; Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte County, 1750 Manzana Ave, Punta Gorda 33950, Golden Rule Rebekah Lodge No. 60, 222 Brown St., Punta Gorda 33950, or Trinity Baptist Church, 11234 Royal Rd., Punta Gorda 33955.
