Maralyn D. Barnes, 98, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Lexington Manor Assisted Care Living Facility in Port Charlotte.
Maralyn was born to Charles and Lennie Julian on August 4, 1917 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Maralyn was a financial analyst at the Army Finance Center in Ft. Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana and a member of Port Charlotte Church of Christ. Maralyn was a wonderful woman who enjoyed life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include her son, Norman R. (Glenda) Barnes; a daughter-in-law, Gayle Barnes; 6 grandchildren, Debra, Betsy, Pamela, Jeffery, Corey and Evan; 4 great-grandchildren, Megan, Christopher, Jacqueline and Levi; several nieces and nephews including Shirley and Carrie (Mike). She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Benton Barnes, her 2 sons, John and Charles Julian Barnes; her step-brother, Charles Ayers and 4 brothers, Fred, John, Vernon and Leonard.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at a later date in Indianapolis, IN.
