Lloyd was born March 17, 1936 to the late Jeralo and Lorretta (Malcolm) Kemp in Jamaica, West Indies. He immigrated to London, England in the late 50’s and then to the United States in 1967 to New York working at Con Edison for almost 30 years before moving to Port Charlotte in 1995. Lloyd was a member of Community Life Center in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Olive T. Kemp of Port Charlotte; a son, Junior Kemp of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters, Ann Haxton of Tampa, FL and Sonia Nelson of Brooklyn, NY; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, November 17, 2018 at the Community Life Center, 19048 Edgewater Dr., Port Charlotte, Florida 33948. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
