Lisa M. Garcia, age 50, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at her Port Charlotte residence.

Lisa was born October 6, 1968 in Cortlandt, New York, to the late Richard F. and Marguerite Ann (nee-Caputo) Jones. A beautiful person with many talents, Lisa will be best remembered as a mentor too many, loved by all that knew her.

Lisa is survived by her beloved family, husband Joseph Garcia, children, son Logan Garcia, and daughters Whittney Conoway and Megan Garcia; Sisters Lynn Jones and Christine Caputo; and uncles Michael Jones and Joseph Caputo.

My condolences to the Garcia family, and may you, as I will, cherish the memories of the humble and caring person Lisa was throughout her life. It is sad to lose a classmate, especially at this point of our lives. God bless!

Where do I begin? Lisa and I shared so many good times, so many memories. She has been a great and long term friend to me. We shared so much. Mutual confidences. The support only special friends can give one another. We shared Holday and family memories, belly dancing, a love of all things spiritual and metaphysical. I miss you Lisa, in spite of how clearly I feel and hear your loving presence, earthy pragmatism, humor, and unconditional acceptance of everything life threw at you. I am grateful to know your loving spirit is still with us.

Met her 26 yrs ago she flew down to meet me , by the end of the weekend , before we had to say goodbye I asked her if she would be interested in changing her last name , she said Yes.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My memories of Lisa are a treasure to me. She made a difference in this world.

Lisa was an amazing person with an amazing personality. She was my mentor, my friend and a part of my family. Every time we saw her she had a smile on her face, regardless of how she felt. She was a plethora of knowledge and experience, but always stayed grounded and stayed true to who she was as a person. We miss her deeply and feel blessed to have had her as a part of our family, if only for a short time.

From high school silliness, to doing my hair for my wedding day, to reconnecting on face book and our daily chats throughout your illness, you were never a complainer. Always see things on the bright side, always see the good. Fiercely loyal, honest, brave and a protector to those she loved. I will miss our chats, our goofy times, the times that you must have been hiding pain and sickness to give ME advice and guidance, that selfless, loving person that you were. I know you'll always be around.. and that you are pain free, at peace, and enveloped in love. XO

I have so many great memories of Lisa , she was such strong and amazing lady and with so much compassion! Her stories and life experiences , i will trully miss her , she was a good friend and helped in any way she could! She was a nut too , would make me laugh! Sure will miss the times working together! Giana and I loved you as a friend a family member and a teacher. There is and never will be a person of your vibrance on this Earth. Your a shining star for all to see and admire. We love you and dearly miss you!!! But we also know you are a whisper away Fly with the Angels and soar

Thank you for being you because of that you have touched so many people in your life, though out our relationship you always put others before you. Since the time you have gotten sick you never once said why me but instead we will try something else you continued to stay positive and so strong you got that from your mom! Now the time has come for your new Journey may it be everything you expected and more Always and 4ever my beautiful friend

I didn’t know Lisa for long, but it didn’t take too long for her to make a huge impact in my life as well as my daughters. She was able to touch peoples souls in a way I e never experienced before. She was so warm and loving. It felt as tho I’ve known her for many years. She will be missed greatly by many. My deepest condolences to Joe and the rest of her family and friends.
