She was born on August 24 1928 in Jamaica West Indies and traveled to England to pursue a career in nursing. She was able to apply her nursing skills in England, Canada and the United States. She was a long time resident of North Port and Port Charlotte but for the past six years because of failing health had relocated to Ocala to be closer to her sisters.
She is survived by four sisters in Florida, one sister in Canada and two brothers and a sister-in-law in Jamaica and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed. She is preceded in death by two husbands and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel, Wednesday 11:00 AM June 22, 2016 with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County, PO Box4860, Ocala FL.34478 or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave, 7th Fl. New York, NY 10001.
