Katherine E. Sanders, 67, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at her residence.

She was born May 29, 1948 in Brockton, Massachusetts and moved to Charlotte County in 1968 from Massachusetts. She worked for Bon Secours- St. Joseph Hospital in Port Charlotte as an executive secretary for many years. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Charlotte Harbor. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be missed, but not forgotten.

Survived by her family, husband, J. Allen Sanders, Sr. of Punta Gorda, a son, Patrick Hennessey of Orlando; two step daughter, Melissa Velvet and Nora Michaud both of Port Charlotte; three step sons, Jeff Sanders of Sinclair WY, Jay Allen Sanders of North Port and Joel Allen Sanders of Marrow, OH; a brother Michael Gabriel of Higham, MA; seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in Katherine’s memory to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County, FL. 3519 Drance St, Port Charlotte, FL 33980. I was both shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Kathy. She volunteered in my classroom and was a valuable asset to my students. She was also my friend, and I will miss seeing her every week!

I was both shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of Kathy. She worked with me as a volunteer in my classroom for three years. The students absolutely loved her and looked forward to the days when she was with us. I truly relied on her for many projects, as well as, working with the students. She was a great person, and I will miss seeing her every week!

Kathy & I met as neighbors in the 80's then worked together at Bon Secours. She was great gal. Sorry she was taken at such a young age.
