John was born to Walter and Violet Malone on July 17, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Port Charlotte in 1983 from Long Island, New York. John was a U. S. Navy veteran and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was a retired police officer at Nassau County Police Department for many years in Long Island, NY. John was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his son, John J. (Tracie) Malone of Port Charlotte; 2 daughters, Linda (Robert) Vancott of Lindenhurst, NY and Marianne Kennedy of Port Charlotte; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Constance C. Malone.
Visitation will be held 9:30AM-10:30AM, Friday, June 10, 2016 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
