Jerry A. Evangelista, 68, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Sunday, June 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was married to the love of his life, Rose, for 49 years. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandpa.

He was born June 26, 1947 in Ohio. He later moved to Florida with his family in the 80’s. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Army as a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also the owner and operator of a family owned business. Some hobbies included fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Rose Evangelista of Port Charlotte; daughter, Lisa (Roger) Lewellyn; son, James (Kristen) Evangelista; and a grandson, Landon Evangelista.

A private inurnment, with military honors by a U.S. Army Honor Guard will be held at a later date by the family at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238
