Ivy A. Waul, 104, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3, 2018, at her Port Charlotte residence.
Born Ivy Augustine Green, on January 27, 1914, in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, to the late Alexander and Gladys Amanda (nee – Carter) Green; Ivy immigrated from Jamaica to the U.S., where she lived and worked in New York City. A Teacher for a private school in Jamaica, Ivy and her husband Oscar J. Waul, raised two daughters and eventually retired together to Port Charlotte in 2000.
Ivy is survived by her daughters, Annmarie Richardson of Punta Gorda (Deep Creek), FL, and Dolores Waul of Port Charlotte, FL; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents, Ivy was preceded in death by eight brothers, and her loving husband of 49 years, Oscar, in 2008.
Visitation will be held this Thursday, March 15th, 2018, at Roberson Funeral Homes, 2151 Tamiami Trail, in Port Charlotte, beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery in Port Charlotte, where Ivy will be laid to rest beside her husband Oscar.
