Helen T. Doeringsfeld, 82, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Helen was born November 24, 1933 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to the late Glenn and Bertie Thomas. Helen and her loving husband of 64 years, William J. “Bill” Doeringsfeld, raised four wonderful children, and would later become grand and great grandparents to their growing family. Helen and Bill moved from their longtime family home of Illinois to North Fort Myers, FL in 1987, before moving to Punta Gorda in 1994. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte.

She is survived by her husband Bill; daughters Debra L. Nigliaccio and Julie D. Doeringsfeld, both of Port Charlotte, FL, and Dawn M. (Russell) Matejowsky of Ledbetter, TX; son, William T. Doeringsfeld of WI; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by three sisters.

A Memorial service, celebrating Helen’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 2565 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.

In lieu of flowers, memorial bequests in Helen’s name are suggested to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
