He was born May 24, 1927 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the late Arthur and Alexina Cournoyer. He moved to Punta Gorda in 1987 from Pawtucket. He was retired restaurant owner and veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. Member of San Antonio Catholic Church of Port Charlotte, Knights of Columbus and the Higgs Shuffleboard Courts in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by a friend, Irene Kloock of Punta Gorda; He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Luisa Cournoyer in 1999.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33980. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Main Street Cemetery, Hardwick, VT.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn.
