He was born October 3, 1958 in Arlington County, Virginia and moved to Port Charlotte in 1990 from Deer Park, New York. Dennis was a Patrolman First Class with the North Port Police Department for 14 years. He attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Dennis was an avid bowler and loved to golf.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 31 years, Donna J. Gonthier; sons Nicholas,
James and Dennis Gonthier all of Port Charlotte; father, Leon Alfred Gonthier, sister, Janet Gonthier, and brother, William Gonthier, all of Bayshore, NY.
Visitation will be held Thursday 2-4 & 6-9 PM Nov. 12, 2015 at the San Pedro Catholic Church, North Port. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 10:00 AM, Nov. 13, 2015 at San Pedro Catholic Church. Interment with Police Honors by the North Port Police Dept. Honor Guard will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
