My husband Cliff and myself met Dave and Cheryl in Key West a few years back. We were both there again the following year when they brought Jeff and Betty. Dave and Cheryl were a lot fun and he will be missed. He would share stories about the campground and about being a trooper. He was a great guy! God Bless and Prayers to all!

Thankful to have known this wonderful man I am so sad to hear of his passing. I will forever appreciate the time, love & laughter that he & his wife shared with my family. I loved coming home from school to see their car parked in our yard...but even if it wasn't there, I'd be able to tell, I'd smell his cologne as soon as I opened the door. It was Dave Wilson who introduced me to my good friends, Ben & Jerry During some of the most heartbreaking times of my life, we chatted, Peace Pop in hand, while sitting upon a deep freezer filled with them...because who doesn't bring an entire trash bag of Ben & Jerry's Peace Pops while on a weekend visit? I truly enjoyed them coming to see us....it was always an adventure. Dave was a good man. He encouraged my individuality, my creativity & taught me that kitchen dancing is important! I was a huge mess & he always focused on my positive attributes instead of my negative ones. He gifted me with what were my favorite sweatpants ever, Green Vermont State Police ...I cried when I lost them. I know that seems so silly, to be upset about sweatpants but...have we met? I'm a sentimental gal who loves to be comfortable, they were GREEN & they were from someone who meant a lot to me. He truly was the best & while I haven't seen the Wilson's in about 20 years, I'll still miss him, knowing our paths will never cross again. When I think of him, I will forever remember his personality but physically, him in his prime, tan, muscular in a tank top- laughing not only with his mouth & body but also with the most beautiful set of blue eyes...I will forever see him standing Honor Guard across from Nick Marcotte (MSP) at my Papa's funeral, same blue eyes, holding back his emotion & pain, standing at attention with respect & honor. It is a lasting impression I'll never forget & today, it hits home. Lighting a candle & saying goodbye in my own way today, wishing I could hug Cheryl. Praying for his peace. You were one of a kind, Mr. Wilson.
