Carol Sue De Stefanis, 71, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Born July 17, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clifford Eugene and Helen Marie (nee – O’Neil) Hinebaugh, Carol, a former Secretary, and her husband of nearly 47 years, Vaughn A. De Stefanis, moved from her native Columbus, OH, to Port Charlotte in 1969 where they raised a daughter and a son. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will forever be in the hearts of her family.

She is survived by her husband, Vaughn A. De Stefanis; her daughter, Tess (John) Elias of Port Charlotte, FL; their daughter, Jordan (William) Callaway of Port Charlotte, FL, and great grand daughter, Kaylee Callaway; and her son, Anthony (Brandi) De Stefanis of MS and their children, Cody and Marina De Stefanis; and numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hinebaugh.

A Memorial service celebrating Carol’s life will be held at a later date.

Vaughn, we pray with you at this time of sadness

Carol was my second mom for many years when I was at her house, practically every single day, with Tess. I am glad I saw her last year to catch up. So many memories of the 4th of July picnics and the craziness in the family. She was a blessing. Sending my condolences to her family. Rest in peace sweet lady.

Carol's light will always shine in all your hearts.
