Andre J. Moussignac, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
He was born February 6. 1935 in Chardonnieres, Haiti and migrated to New Rochelle, NY after graduating high school on May 5, 1967. He then moved again to Manhattan, NY to work at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center as a Housekeeping Janitor where he rose his way up the ladder to become the Director of Environmental Services. He spent 30 years there until he retired in 1997, and moved to Port Charlotte in 2005. Andre was a hard working man and a dedicated leader.
Survived by his loving family, his wife of 52 years, Fernande Moussignac of Port Charlotte, FL; three sons, Spellman (Angela) Moussignac of Suwanee, GA, Patrick (Valiere), Moussignac of New Canaan, CT, and Peterson (Julia) of Lawrenceville, GA; a sister, Emilien Moussignac of Brooklyn, NY; 6 grandchildren ( Mariah, Trisha, Andre, Kaitlyn, Melanie, and Caroline), 3 step grandchildren (Darien, Shunkita, and Paris), 2 great-grandchildren (Jose Jr and Alivia), and 3 step great-grandchildren (Aden, Aaliyah, and Aria).
Visitation will be held Wed. July 26, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Catholic Wake service at 7:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial be held Thurday 11:00 AM, July 27, 2017 St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
